About us
KTU Regional Science Park (KTC) is a public institution established in 1998 with an intention to increase an efficiency of research and development (R&D) activities at the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and Kaunas region. KTC has internal business incubation facilities and comprehensive support services portfolio for start-ups and spin-offs.

KTC has more than 12 years of experien¬ce in assisting and supporting innovative and technology-oriented SMEs, start-up and spin-off companies in Kaunas region and Lithuania. KTC’s services include business and technology transfer consultancy, technical-administrative services, organisation of workshops and training courses for entrepreneurs, access to laboratories of Kaunas University of Technology.
KTC has an extensive experience in implementation of national and EU-funded projects including Leonardo da Vinci, Interreg, Framework Programmes, EU Structural Funds, etc.

Responsibilities in the Project
KTC is WP5 „Tutors for start-ups, students & pupils“ leading institution and also has a member in Project Steering Group who is representative of Lithuanian partners and responsible for communicating projects issues to them as well as has a voting right during PSG meetings.

KTC is also participating in other work packages including:
- WP3 „Labour Market & Employment“. KTC is involved in Acquiring background information of demographic structure in Baltic Sea Region Countries (BSR) (Activity 3.1), Study of the employment situation of Best Agers (Activity 3.2), Analysis of support structures for Best Agers employment (Activity 3.3), Developing a curriculum for training executives to utilize their Best Agers emplyees (Activity 3.5).
- WP4 „Coaches & Experts for Businesses“. KTC is involved in Surveying of on-going Best Agers initiatives in Lithuania (Activity 4.1) and Identifying target groups and preparing pilot initiatives (Activity 4.2).

Why we participate in Best Agers
The demographic trends and market change from planning economy to market economy have led the entrepreneurship to a situation where Best Agers with a lot of experience are willing to retire from one side and young people with a lot of new and inovative ideas are willing to start their own business from the other side. And it creates a gap between generations. From our point of view and interest, The Best Agers project addresses those issues on how to remove the gap and transfer the knowledge and experience from older generation to young people. Finding new and innovative ways to promote and support entrepreneurship is the main goal of KTC in the project.
