Responsibilities in the Project
Associated Organization in WP 4 (Coaches & Experts for Businesses) and WP 6 (Motivation, Skills & Entrepreneurship)

About us
Our association emerged from an informal network and got its legal framework in 2010. According to our statute we are working in local, regional, nationwide and transnational projects.

The general aim is to strengthen all forms of community work and regional self-help assistance. Our association offers appropriate learning opportunities and support services to foster citizens´ involvement especially in the fields of cultural education, regional traditions and local history. We qualify, assist and accompany people in regional and local initiatives, self-help organizations, associations and local authorities. If required, we help to establish institutions like regional cooperatives or other institutions of the social economy.

Why we participate in Best Agers
The social economy is predestined to realize integrated approaches for regional development – in short: social economy is regional economy. Both need the participation of civil society initiatives and “an active citizenship with a sense of solidarity” in accordance with local needs.

We would contribute to strengthen the role of regional social enterprises and the non-profit sector in generating new economic activity and creating mechanisms of social inclusion including corporate social responsibility and other instruments of social cohesion.
The Best Agers Project delivers several approaches, methods, curricula and best practices of mentoring. We try to adapt and transfer these into other regions.

What's happening now
In the project we work in close cooperation with the Project Partner PARITAETISCHER Schleswig-Holstein and support them to establish a network of “Mentors” for community work named “Citizen Coaches” (or “Bürgercoaches” in German).
Furthermore, our overall aim is to establish a support structure for SME of the social economy, the non-profit-sector and regional initiatives to foster entrepreneurship, enterprise networks and economic development on a local level.
